Terms of Use
Article 1. Application
These terms set out the conditions for using the company information search system "Hojinroku" (the "service") provided by the HJR.jp operating team (the "operator"). Users use the service after agreeing to these terms.
Article 2. Service content
The service organizes and integrates public data from the National Tax Agency, METI, FSA, ministries, local governments, exchanges, international organizations, and other sources, together with materials voluntarily provided by users, and provides it as supporting information for company research, KYC, due diligence, compliance checks, and similar purposes. The service does not replace legal, accounting, tax, investment, credit, or other professional judgment.
Article 3. Account management
Users must provide accurate and current information when registering an account. Users are responsible for managing login information, email addresses, and authentication information, and must not allow third parties to use them. If unauthorized account use or leakage is discovered, users should promptly contact the operator.
Article 4. Submitted materials and uploads
When users provide materials, text, PDFs, company information, correction requests, or other content to the service, they represent that they have authority to provide the information and that it does not violate third-party rights, laws, or contracts. If users send officer addresses, identity documents, sensitive information, confidential information, or other information that should not be public on the service, users must mask or otherwise process it in advance as necessary.
Article 5. AI-generated and estimated information
The service may display information generated or estimated by automated processing or AI, including public-information summaries, entity matching, risk signals, related-company estimates, PEP candidates, location environment, and AI-generated reports. These are supporting information for research and do not determine facts, illegality, anti-social-force status, creditworthiness, investment value, or similar matters.
Article 6. Prohibited acts
Users must not engage in the following acts.
- Acts that violate laws, public order and morals, third-party rights, or contractual obligations
- Mass or automated acquisition of the service, including scraping, crawling, bot use, or excessive API calls
- Placing excessive load on the service or external data-source servers, networks, or systems
- Unauthorized access, authentication bypass, vulnerability probing, reverse engineering, or circumvention of security features
- Use for discrimination, defamation, threats, harassment, doxxing, or disadvantageous treatment of individuals
- Making hiring, credit, lending, insurance, contract exclusion, sanctions determination, or other serious adverse decisions based only on service information
- Reselling, redistributing, or commercially databasing service displays, data, or reports without the operator's permission
- Posting, sending, or uploading false, misleading, rights-infringing, sensitive, or malware-containing materials
- Interfering with the service's credibility, operation, or other users' use
Article 7. Intellectual property and data use
Rights in the service screens, software, database structure, editorial policy, proprietary scores, estimation logic, text, design, and related materials belong to the operator or legitimate rights holders. Rights and usage terms for original data provided by public agencies and other sources are governed by those sources. For information submitted by users, users grant the operator a free, non-exclusive, sublicensable, and transferable license to use it within the scope necessary for service delivery, quality improvement, data verification, display, and research and development.
Article 8. Service changes and suspension
The operator may change, interrupt, suspend, or terminate all or part of the service without prior notice for maintenance, failures, security response, external data-source changes, legal response, operational needs, or other reasons.
Article 9. Disclaimer and no warranty
Information published by the service includes public information, external data, user-submitted materials, automated processing, and AI-generated or estimated information. The operator does not warrant accuracy, completeness, freshness, legality, usefulness, fitness for a particular purpose, continuous provision, or external data-source availability. Users must verify important decisions against original sources, public authorities, professionals, counterparty materials, and similar sources.
Article 10. Limitation of liability
Even if users suffer damages related to use or inability to use the service, the operator is not liable for indirect damages, special damages, lost profits, data loss, reputational damage, or disputes with third parties, except in cases of the operator's intent or gross negligence. Where liability cannot be avoided under consumer contract law or other mandatory law, the operator's liability is limited to the extent permitted by law.
Article 11. Use restrictions and account suspension
If a user violates these terms, or if the operator determines that it is necessary for service operation, the operator may take necessary measures such as use restrictions, account suspension, data deletion, or access blocking without prior notice.
Article 12. Changes to terms
The operator may change these terms as necessary. Changed terms take effect when posted on this website. Important changes will be announced by a reasonable method.
Article 13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Japanese law. If a dispute arises concerning the service, the Japanese court having jurisdiction over the operator's location will be the exclusive court of first instance, except where exclusive jurisdiction is otherwise provided by law.
